Please join us at two upcoming House Education Committee hearings:

Friday, Feb. 17, at 8:30 am, the Committee will hear HB 280, American Indian Ed. Technical Assistance Centers. This bill will establish two Technical Assistance Centers to support school districts and tribal education departments in developing culturally relevant programs for Native students.

On Monday, Feb. 20, HB 148, Early Childhood Dept. Tribal Agreements, is on the House Education Committee schedule. Last week, HB 148 was passed unanimously by the Indian Affairs Committee, thanks to your strong support.

Also on the schedule is HJM 3, Year of Bilingual Multicultural Education, which was developed by Transform Education New Mexico, a coalition of education, tribal, and community advocates.
