Feb 12, 2025

New Mexico’s students are entitled to an equitable and culturally relevant education that uplifts their assets. SB 13, sponsored by Senator Shendo, offers a bold and creative opportunity for Tribes, Nations, and Pueblos to design and operate language and cultural immersion schools.

SB 13 advances tribal self-determination in the education of Native students who will become the future leaders of their communities and the state.
